Stone Ridge Stables is a family-run facility that offers a full range of equestrian activities for all ages and levels.
Serving the Western Communities on Vancouver Island, Stone Ridge is a boarding, training and teaching facility that offers lessons with Equine Canada Certified Coach, Tessa Fry.
At Stone Ridge Stables we strive to maintain a learning environment that is both positive and fun, while remaining safe and professional. We offer individually tailored lesson and training programs, which focus on providing horses and riders with flatwork and over fences skills to ensure safety, fun and success in both recreational and competition goals. From the very beginning, Resident coach, Tessa Fry instills the basics of correct riding and horsemanship into her students, insuring they will become confident and successful in any equestrian discipline they choose to continue.
Equine Canada's Learn to Ride Program
 The EC Learn to ride program was developed for individuals who wish to learn safe horsemanship practices.
The purpose of this program is to produce safe and knowledgeable horseman who become lifetime enthusiasts and to assist in the development of future instructors and coaches. The program encourages all riders to ride, learn and enjoy the sport of riding, and promotes a continuous and progressive path of learning towards safe and knowledgeable horsemanship.
By offering various attainable levels of achievement that are recognized by certificates, the program encourages participants to continue furthering their education. Since proper riding technique is best developed only with the aid of an accredited instructor, the program has been designed to be delivered by an EC certified coach. Furthermore, the Ministry of Education offers “External Credentials Program” which gives high school students the opportunity to earn graduation credits for sport learning through this approved process.
